Brandywine River Hotel

The room we stayed in was quite outdated and overpriced for what it was. Most of the furniture was old and had scratches and worn edges. Linoleum floor felt soft and was coming up in places. The wifi was not strong and kept disconnecting. We were also moved from a second floor room to a first floor room that had a connecting door to the next room. The walls were extremely thin and we could hear everything in the next room, including guests coughing extremely hard and watching tv at 6am. Of course, the hotel cannot completely control how people in the room next to you behave, but I don’t think they’ve done enough to address the sound problem for these connecting rooms. It seems they still charge just as much for these less ideal rooms. You’d be better off driving to Exton area or Delaware t

Such a pleasant surprise we had.looking forward to an overnight stay location so we could visit Longwood Gardens and experience their Christmas lights program. This hotel is close, easy to get in and out of, and is right next to (a brief walk down their driveway) to a high quality Italian restaurant. The check in system works very smoothly, the rooms seem to be all different, both very comfortable.(We were with 2 other couples, each in a unique and comfortable room). Breakfast was continental style, but well stocked, and they were always on top of inventory, including coffee, to ensure everyone could get enough. If you’re thinking of going to Longwood, or to Kennet Square for everything mushroom, I would recommend this hotel for your accommodation.

We were looking for a place to stay overnight after visiting Longwood Gardens. This hotel was located in a great area and was reasonably priced. We wanted to stay somewhere a bit more unique than a chain hotel and are happy that we stumbled across the Brandywine River Hotel. Staff were friendly upon check-in. They had free cookies, which we couldn't eat due to dietary restrictions, but they looked good! A nice breakfast was included and the lobby was warm and festive. We enjoyed the cozy, unique atmosphere!

The check-in was seamless with key codes for the front door and our room sent via text and email. The room was spacious with a king bed and a very ornate couch. The continental breakfast was more than adequate. We were visiting Longwood Gardens and will stay here the next time we are in Chadds Ford. This hotel was a great value!

26 may 24 1536 GMT (re Brandywine Room # 212 May 24 2024)I was never supplied (either by email or by text) with the code to get through the the front door and to then access my room. That's bizarre.There was no small complimentary tube of toothpaste.The AirCo was set to "Eco": which meant that it cycled on-and-on and off thoughout the night with a loud rumbling each time. The AirCo is supposed to be "white noise" in the background - runnnig constantly in the background.The breakfast was amateurish.
