Bower House Bed & Breakfast

The Bower House is a beautiful B&B in the small rural town of Chatham, VA. The house is located on Main Street in walking distance to restaurants and downtown. It is also located near Hargrave Military Academy. Susan was a wonderful host for our visit to see our grandson graduate from the Academy. The suite we stayed in was very spacious, even though the bed was somewhat noisy. Thanks to Susan for a wonderful breakfast and sharing information about the town.

We live in Chatham and often recommend overflow family and friends visiting to stay at Bower House. Susan never disappoints! The house is a tastefully-converted doctor's office, the location is excellent for walking through downtown Chatham, the breakfast is delicious, and the hostess is gracious and welcoming. If you prefer a unique experience to the Hampton Inn, please give Bower House a call.

I’m late writing this, but I can’t emphasize enough the amount of fun and enjoyment we received here out of a quick wedding trip down to Chatham. Susan is an absolute angel. We were cooked homemade country skillet breakfast, fresh coffee, etc. My boyfriend did not want to leave!! Susan went above and beyond on hospitality. It felt like a page out of Southern Living. The B&B is stunning, with every inch carefully curated in design. Our master suite had a beautiful bathroom, main king bedroom, and even an added sitting/reading room. Susan felt like a long-lost relative that we had just rekindled with, that is how warm and caring she is. To add a cherry on top, we were unable to find any Ubers to return to the car we parked at the wedding the night prior, and Susan literally drove us herself

I highly recommend Bower House Bed & Breakfast! Susan went out of her way to make our stay wonderful. In the evening she brought us homemade apple cider. Breakfast was included and in the summer months you can eat on the extensive porch. The rooms were immaculate and beautifully designed. Loved the thoughtful touches in each room. From the minute you walked in you could feel the welcoming atmosphere. We were researching our genealogy and Susan went out of her way to put us in touch with local historians. I have traveled and stayed in many establishments over the years including 5 star hotels and by far Bower House Bed & Breakfast rate among my favorites!

I just had to leave a review even though I didn't get to stay here because they were full. Susan sent me 4 possible places for us to stay that she had been told were good. I told her we were doing genealogy research and she sent me oodles of info to help us on our way. Such generosity of spirit is as good as it gets. Thank you, Susan, what a lovely person you are!
