Good place for camping. Scenic view from the mountain. Clear air and beautiful smell of pines. You could reach camp even without 4x4, but should have a solid ground clearance.
Very beautiful location despite the horribly-neglected campground with uneven, rutted, and poorly-planned campspots...the reason for 3 stars. Hard to get to with our 32ft fifth wheel and Dodge 2500 up the long, rough forest service road. We thought we wouldn't make it at times! Vault toilet has been welded shut, the trash recepticals are overflowing and maybe are emptied once a month. Watch for loggers coming to saw down trees near the campground in the middle of the night and at 5 in the morning. This happened our first night there and the odd behavior caused us to backtrack about a half mile back along the road to a more spacious clearing up on a hill. That turned out to be a better place to camp and we spent 2 weeks enjoying the site. If you attempt to camp in this area, bring water up
