I stayed here in October 2025 with my family- the four of us enjoyed the Chickadee Room. I’ve stayed in quite a few places across the US and world, and I didn’t know what to expect here. But the place very much exceeded my expectations! It was simple, but with a stunning view, great tea and coffee selection, a communal area where we read and played board games, and we enjoyed our room, too. It is a little dim in the room- be prepared if you have eyesight problems. But the windows brighten it up during the day. Also- the owners text you randomly with recommendations. They helped us find some amazing spots on this side of Acadia and some great food. At first, I was worried because we wanted to stay in Bar Harbor. However, this was an hour away and we were far from a lot of the “stuff” to do

We arrived on a Thursday evening. Road was not plowed and luckily, we had AWD so made a path. We parked in the 3 spot available, went into the entrance. Freezing. Our bedroom was the Chickadee ROOM. it was nice but also chilly. We did turn up the heat to be comfortable. We went out to the common room, but it was too cold to sit and relax, play a game and look at the beautiful view. That was a bummer. Beds were comfy and room was nice, but didn't feel welcome when we went into common room. .we went out exploring next day, got back to the inn and right into our bedroom for warmth. We decided to stay at another place that was more welcoming. I know it is wintah, but not even fireplace going to try to warm up. Very disappointed.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. We stayed in the main house - The Ocean View room (which really has a gorgeous view) and the Evergreen room. Beautifully decorated. The downstairs common area is lovely. The staff was friendly. We stayed during the off season, so we didnt have the breakfast option, but it was still great. The other half of our family stayed in the Raven's Nest cabin, which was beautifully decorated and heated with a gas fireplace. We saw a bald eagle flying overhead, which was great to see. I can not recommend this place enough. Stay here. Enjoy Maine without being in the tourist areas. Visit Acadia national Park. Go to Schoodic Point. Do all the things !!!!

We stayed in the Eagles nest Apt. The views were awesome and 10/10. We absolutely loved this location. The only reason for 4 stars is there are a ton of wasps in the roof of this apt and our dogs were stung 3 times as they were getting inside the apt and all over the door outside. There were a lot of Japanese beetles inside as well and the bathroom exhaust fan needed replaced 10 years ago. Older reviews mention some fresh muffins/pastries which would be an awesome touch if they brought this back for guests. I think for the price of $460 a night these are very easy fixes. We would also like to see a little stick vacuum if staying with pets to be able to clean up the hair better. Also shoutout to all the staff they were all extremely friendly and gave our pups treats which they loved! Thanks

We have been regular patrons of Bluff House Inn for several years. We've stayed in all of their accommodations, from the main inn, the cabins, and the Raven's Nest log home multiple times over the last several years and always had nothing but a positive experience. The McQuade family did an amazing job running the inn and went out of their way to make sure that all guests were well cared for, especially repeat guests like us. However, about a year ago, the inn was sold to out of state investors, who don't know the first thing about customer service or providing guests with a positive experience. When we stayed in the main inn a couple of months ago, the driveway had not even been plowed (it had just snowed a good amount) and the inn was totally vacant. We were the only guests there an
