Blue Mounds State Park Campground

This campground within Blue Mounds State Park is well maintained, clean, and nice and shady. There aren't a ton of hiking trails within the park, but the ones that exist are fun and relatively easy. Worth noting is that alcohol is not allowed at the campground.

Campground located next to a farm so constant smell of manure when there's wind. Constant sounds from said farm throughout day and night. If you are looking for a quite site this is not it. Only stating this info so others are aware. We slept fine and enjoyed our site. This year the no-see-ums are absolutely terrible. They laugh at bug spray. So come prepared and have a screened area to sit in.

A lovely campground, but not much privacy between campsites. A nice fire pit with grill and restrooms close by. The South restroom/showers are in a new building and very nice+clean. We stayed during the 2nd week of October so the trees were changing beautifully. Flies were a bit of a nuisance on the nicer sunny days.

Really good camping service and view of the prairie. Each loop road has a shower+toilet room, and WIFI is available. Just be prepared to hear animals sneaking around at night.

Smaller rv sites but very clean and sanitary showers and restrooms.
