Customer Reviews
Nice campground with basic facilities. Bathrooms and potable water available. No soap in the bathroom. Campsites were a little close to each other but usually is the case in national parks. Main complaint is wish the bus ran more frequently from the campsite. Ended up having to drive to other locations in the park
Convenient location close to most of the major attractions in Acadia and not too far from Bar Harbor. The campground is hooked up to the main trail system (the South Ridge Trail up Cadillac starts from here) and there’s a 5-minute trail near site A011 that takes you down to the water, where you can get an excellent view of the sun rising over Otter Point. The sites themselves aren’t at all secluded, but the boundaries between sites are clear and the only trespassers you have to worry about are the occasional off-leash dogs. Clean flush toilets, potable water, and a dumpster for trash disposal are all available, but no showers.
I stayed in several spots in the A loop. It’s just a standard campground, not isolated, but nothing negative to say. There at the beginning of October. The facilities were clean and nice entry point to South Cadillac Ridge trail. Bus came right to the campground so just a solid base camp without any noteworthy scenery.
Great campground for us for one night! Great location, awesome walking trail to the coast, nice bathrooms and water. Checkin was easy and friendly.||Prior review about spacing is pretty true, and loud neighbors can be true as well, but quiet time at 10 was pretty well respected in our spot. I’d stay here again without hesitation.
Great campground!!! Clean, bathrooms are clean too! Very convenient to town, wood 🪵 $5.00, ice 🧊 $4.00, and there are showers ( per minute $) across the street or at the YMCA (in town). Free shuttle services provided by @LLBean (thank you!) so many hikes that you can get to from here. The beach is 10 minute walk. The space between camp sites is ample. You and whoever you may with have space with a thin tree line between. Fresh water is available as well. Read the National park rules and available other information prior to reserving - off grid somewhat.
