Blackmore Campground

Tough campground to stay in! Summer time motocross youth stayed in front and used the campground road as their dirt race track leaving dust in everyone’s camp site. They rode past dark and the noise was extreme for such a pretty place 🤦‍♂️

We found this campground from the recommendation of the camp host in a different campsite. We didn’t have reservations but this one is first come first serve. It’s a half mile from the reservoir and right across the street from Blackmore trail head. Sites are not all big. We have a 24 ft travel trailer and came in on a Friday morning in July and picked up a spot. The spot next to us only fit a tent. It is not a paved campground. It did have a vaulted toilet and trash. We did not find potable water in the campground. Have picnic tables and fire pits available at each site. No cell service but had sky for Starlink

There was a lot to like about it, including the creek running along the back of the campsite. The restroom was nice too. But my wife and I had just watched "Cocaine Bear" the night before, and woke up the next morning to see what were clearly bear claw marks on the tree right outside our tent. Not sure if it had come in the night or not. We knew it was a bear because the claw marks were above eye level. 😂😱

I'd give it 5 but it was confusing. All but two sites said open, with a handwritten note saying closed 7/10. No explanation about what that meant. I chose one of two completely open and enjoyed myself. Nice, quiet and shaded.

Great Campground with lots of privacy and only about 7-9 spots available. The potty was pretty decent.
