Black Oak Equestrian Camp

The Black Oak Equestrian Center in Pollock Pines, conveniently located just 5 miles off the Sly Park exit 60 on the way to South Lake Tahoe, is an exceptional destination that I highly recommend. As an avid camper and horse enthusiast, I rate this place with five stars. The campsite is nestled among stunning trees, creating a picturesque setting. Each site offers its own fire pit, electrical hook-up, and many even have private bathrooms. Additionally, two horse pens are available at each site. The pricing is reasonable, and there are convenient stores nearby, including Safeway, a pizza place, and a Family Dollar General. We had a lovely time at this equestrian campground. Pit toilets, 2 corrals per site, great rangers. The campground and trails are not in heavy use, which is good, because much of it is single track. The southwest side of the trails leaving the campground had clearly burned fairly recently and needed work. We appreciated how close the lake was - we rode in the morning and paddleboarded in the afternoon.

Excellent Campground for horses. Great trails.
