After a week of returning from my bear hunt with Black Bear Outfitters of Maine I took a few minutes to reflect back on my experience of my first guided bear hunt. My focus was not only to harvest a bear but to learn everything I could about a guided hunt I must say I was so impressed with the knowledge and passion that Gary shared with our group he was so informative as he explained everything about "His Bears" a term he used during the week that alone told me a lot how much he cared about the bears. Gary explained everything in detail how to harvest a bear even though nothing is guaranteed but the key to him was to be patient because you just never know what's going to happen. My parents went to the outdoor sportsman show Harrisburg, Pa this year. My parents went there and saw The Black Bear Outfitters booth. They decided to book a week at black bear outfitters with a written receipt and agreement that they could send a deposit in a couple of weeks and call them when they were ready to send the deposit. Stepdad bought a Maine license and permit. Then my parents called Black Bear outfitters to tell them they were sending the deposit. During this phone call, Black bear outfitters told my parents they gave their week they promised them without prior knowledge. Been using BBO since their inception and I can say first hand this is a class act. Cabins are CLEAN and cozy. Linens and towels provided. Coffee is hot every morning and if you leave the table hungry at night it is your own fault. There isn't anything they wont do, that is legal, to help you harvest a bear! Highly recommend!
