Bistineau Lake RV Resort Cabins & Camping

This little campground which we stayed at is tucked back in the woods about 30 min drive from Shreveport, LA. Cement pads that are leveled. 50/30 amp hookups. The free wifi is actually really good. Averaged 30mb down and 2-5mb up. Cell phone coverage for VZ or ATT was barely 1 bar and switched to 3G on VZ. Best to have a cell booster if you require a cell phone here. The free FAST steady wifi made up the difference. The sites are rather close to one another. For an over night or a few days, this place works just fine if you are traveling east or west on I-20. @ $18 a night, I'm not going to complain. For the money, it's good. Only gave it 4 stars due to the cell coverage. Nothing they can do about it, but best to know if having a cell is vital for your travel and stay.

During the lake months, when the spillway gates are closed, the view is nice and I hear the fishing is fantastic! In the off-season(?) the quads sometimes show up. Pretty cool use for a lake bed if you ask me. And you can still cross the bridge and launch a boat there in the remaining lake [channel?] But I couldn't quote you their fees. Boat ramp on site. Oh, and there are a couple cabins I've never seen inside. Has Wi-Fi... currently... at the time of this edit. Internet availability has been hit and miss since I've been here; sometimes no signal (somewhat understandable), sometimes no service. And phone service is terrible. (I have both AT&T and Verizon. AT&T beats Verizon here but typically neither are capable. I added a Verizon booster and now that phone is no longer COMPLETELY useless

First off, I have to say that the owners are extremely kind. We showed up late without a reservation, and they were more than accommodating. The area has an excellent view, and is well secluded. The water is delicious. Seriously, load up on this stuff because it is so good! The cabin we used was perfectly cozy. Couldn't have asked for me. If you were my friend, I would recommend you to stay here. [don't worry, the RV spots provide everything you need as well]. Thanks for the stay, and hospitality.

This little campground offers 50/30amp service and sewer. Leveled cement pads. It has free wifi which I found to be excellent. I averaged 30mb down and 5mb up. The speeds were consistent over the weekend when it was more crowded. The sites are rather close to one another. VZ and ATT coverage were barely 1 bar. Without a cell booster it's dropped call central. Heads up on that. If you are traveling east or west on I-20, it's just a 30 mile dip off the highway for a one nighter or weekend. If you fish, there is a boat launch and very easy access to the lake. (at the bottom of the hill, barely 50 yards away). For the price of just $18/night, it's a winner in my book.

Very cozy! There pads are 45’ long, with plenty of space between. The views are spectacular.
