Bilmar Hotel and Smuggler's Bar & Grill

My wife and I recently stayed here after being unable to get a room at the Sky Dancer Casino. When you walk in the lobby it looks nicely decorated and furnished. The daughter of the owner booked us in and then we entered the motel via another entrance. The view was quite different from the lobby and with a damp smell. We entered the room to find wood paneling on the walls and just enough room to move. A sink to the left of the bed and the bathroom consisted of a shower stall and toilet. I went back to the front desk and asked her if all rooms were the same size, she said yes, I saw the next morning that some rooms were much larger. Very friendly service and easy check in. Quiet and set back off the road. There are two options: renovated or not. I opted for the cheaper non-renovated, so i got what i paid for. I peaked in, and their new rooms are quite nice. Older rooms still have old carpets, old beds and small showers - but hey, that's why it's cheap. No microwaves in the room, which was a bit of a hassle since i was staying multiple days and was trying to save on food. Friendly resident dog too, loved Nico!

The outside looks deceiving and could use updating, but the owners made the stay a pleasurable one. Make sure to ask for an updated room. Our two rooms were clean and had a refrigerator. Beds were comfortable. One of our rooms had a blow dryer. Coffee is available in lobby starting at 6 AM. There is a restaurant uptown that starts serving breakfast at 5 AM. The steak and burgers we ate downstairs for supper in The Smugglers Bar & Grill were tasty. There is a very friendly husky dog that greeted us in the lobby. He only approached you if you wanted him to....did not jump on you or lick you. Again, the owners are very friendly and accommodating.

I stayed here from in 2023 from July 16-20. Rooms extremely clean and comfy bed. Room includes a mini fridge and there is a microwave in the hallway. There is also a restaurant in basement or other places in town. Laundry facilities available for those who need. Staff very friendly. Would recommend

The room was very BASIC. The FOOD was amazing. The Tex-Mex Mac and 🧀 was the best thing I've had in North Dakota. The Tex Mex Patty Melt was amazing as well. The room was under 80 bucks tax in, so it will do if I need to stay again.
