This is a wonderful area full of great SHARED USE trails that serves the Foothill Road community, although all are welcome. Unfortunately, the Bigfork Nordic Club incorrectly states that dogs and hiking are not allowed during winter; they post plenty of signs and illegally use the DNRC logo to make them look official. This is state land that is leased to the Nordic Club, so while they maintain XC trails in the winter (which are really nice) they do not have the right to exclude other legal recreational activities including dog walking, hiking, snowshoeing, and fat tire biking. It is inappropriate for them to try to alienate the community that lives nearby and frequents this land.
