Big Hogan Enterprise

A step above primitive camping... But a return to old ways. You can hear cars occasionally on Desert View Drive nearby, but otherwise the silence here is deafening, relaxing, healing. We have stayed here almost a week, through hot days and monsoon rains. We have been welcomed as family, we have awakened at dawn with light streaming in through east facing windows, greeting the rising sun by stepping outside. We have had cold showers and limited facilities and no electricity except batteries. But we have also slept more soundly and peacefully than when surrounded by all the comforts of the modern world. Alberta has been gracious and accommodating, and we have loved every minute here. We do not look forward quite so much to the next leg of our vacation, because it will mark a return to t
