Betty Doon Motor Hotel

Felt like we got duped. When booking it leads you to believe the place is Aspinquid Resort but soon realized it was actually the motel down the street. The location is great, the office staff located at the Aspinquid were nice. Parking was great. Pool at Aspinquid is nice. While the room was dated it was clean. The bed was comfortable but the outside lights go on in front of the room and it lights up the whole room at night so sleeping is a challenge. Blinds are broken leaving little privacy.

This is a terrible place. It is in great need of repair. There is a door next to the entrance to the apartment it is locked from the other side. However, there is no way to secure that door from our side. You need to walk from the parking lot in the back, up to the street, passed the shops, then down an alley to get to the door to this place. The bathroom room would not fully close. The toilet seat kept falling off. There is air conditioning in the bedrooms but not in the kitchen, hallway or bathroom areas. So those rooms were hot. The bathroom tile is cracked. There are spots of unpainted plaster. Above the twin bed is a light in the ceiling with exposed insulation. There is no outlet in the bathroom. Very upsetting experience. I booked a stay at aspinquid for 2 queen beds back in March for August. Two days before my stay, I got an email saying our reservation is for Betty Doon, which it was not. We were bait and switched. AND to add insult to injury, the beds are fulls. Overall an upsetting experience. Would not recommend.

The people at this motel are very friendly and very accommodating. That is where the good part ends which is why they got two stars. We stayed in room number 9 which is a family suite. The ceiling had a 4 ft wide stain on it the carpet was very old and outdated the beds were far from plush or luxurious the air conditioner was covered with rust and the room had a dehumidifier running in it almost constantly. If the owners would update to match their personalities the place would be a 10 unfortunately it is nowhere near that.

My family and I (10 people ages 2-78) booked 2 large rooms at this motel back in March of 2022 for the weekend of july 29th 2022. We stayed at this motel last year and liked the amount of space each room had and the close proximity to the beach so we thought we would return. BIG MISTAKE! When we arrived to check in, we were told they are under new management and had cancelled our reservations. No apology, no alternate options, just 10 people stuck in the rain with no place to go. As if not having accommodations in a town that books up every weekend wasn't bad enough, we had paid a deposit that they were UNWILLING TO REFUND! They put the blame on the previous owners and expedia, we called expedia and they attempted to contact these managers when they stopped answering their calls. We showe
