Best Western Sandy Inn

Everything about this place just left you saying “meh.” It was better than a motel, but definitely nothing extra. The breakfast is meh. The rooms are decent. The overall feel is meh. The location is sitting behind a strip mall with McDonald, KFC, and the like. But the effort put into this place makes you think they said “good enough” and ticked off the boxes for what is needed for a 4 start hotel. Pros. The rooms were clean. The staff were friendly. And the noise was impressively minimal.

My wife and I wanted an overnight to relax, as the movers were coming the next day to our house, about 16 miles east of the Inn. We'd have to drive at least another 15-20 miles to find a comparable accommodation. We also wanted an in-house breakfast of some sort ... at least fresh coffee. The Inn was clean and the rooms had been obviously updated (I think the Inn itself has been around for 25+ years), the staff was cordial and attentive, and this observation goes double for Rosa, the breakfast room attendant. The hot tub was out of order when we stayed and I was looking forward to relaxing in that, but the beds were quite comfortable, the room was super quiet, and the breakfast - and I'm a "breakfast person - was quite extensive, well-stocked, and delicious.

Positive: Housekeeping came in everyday to straighten out our room. No personal items were touched or moved. The receptionist were so friendly. Negative: Miss then 2 bagels of each kind were only set ouit. I know thatt one morning out of the 4 we started they're was a whole team of adolescentsts. So everything was gone.

This was the perfect place to stay for a short visit to Mt Hood with our young kids. A small, simple hotel with kind staff and a great pool and hot tub! It also has that classic hotel buffet spread with waffle maker, cereal, various toast, yogurt and some hot food like eggs and ham. For a 3 star hotel the quality and price were on point!

Nice little hotel, room was a bit plain but very clean, staff was friendly, the indoor pool and hot tub are open 24/7, and breakfast was fresh, with a lot of tasty options. Was there mid-week and it was very quiet. Would definitely recommend, and would stay here again. Shares a parking lot with a Safeway and multiple fast-food options.
