Best Western Plus French Lick

Beware! There are two hotels in French lick that aren’t expensive. This one, and the comfort in. Don’t bother with either. I’m so serious. The other was awful. This one is worse. It’s worth the extra 300 to just stay at the west Baden. And it takes a lot for me to say that. The lady who check us in absolutely didn’t want to be there. I called and asked if I could get another blanket, as there were none in the closet and was told “only if you come and get it” Which was beyond rude But okay Fair You’re by yourself Then the school bus of kids came with kids running around the halls beating on doors I called 4 times before anything was done. Then some sort of reunion started in the lobby (all after “quiet time” 10 pm with loud men laughing and carrying on. It wouldn’t be a problem if they move

We had to travel to French Lick, Indiana, on very short notice, to attend a funeral for a family member. We had never been to the area before and had never stayed at a Best Western Plus hotel before, so we did not know what to expect. This hotel far exceeded our expectations and was very similar in quality to a Hampton or Holiday Inn Express type of hotel. Everything was clean and well maintained in our room and lobby area. Our room felt spacious and well designed for travelers. The continental breakfast had lots of choices and a very good coffee machine. The only complaint from our group was that the scrambled eggs were a little "rubbery", but that complaint was a minor one. Positive: Location Negative: Water dripped from bathroom ceiling- despite request for maintenance, no repairs provided. Dripped the entire time. Rags left outside room. Person came in unauthorized while we were in room.

Staff were very rude. We have small kids so we booked a room with a pull out sofa, when we checked in they gave us a standard room. When we asked staff they said we didn't book a room with a pull out couch and told us if we didn't like it we could leave. They wanted to charge $25 a night for a roll away bed. Then our room was still dirty. We will never stay at another best western again. Only good thing was the breakfast. Kids liked the pool but was on the cold side. We asked for some money back for such a bad experience and the hotel staff denied our complaints.

The owner and receptionist were very friendly and honest. The last few hotels such as Holiday Inn Express and Courtyard by Mariott the fire alarms got pulled. Fortunately, this time went very smoothly, and I slept from 8-9 with no interruptions despite falling asleep with The Great Outdoors on at 40 volume. The breakfast was out of this world, and the nestle vitality dispenser really came in handy because I did come down with a cold. Perfect family place. 100 times infinity out of 10. My nitpicks are pool hours and breakfast labelling. Other than that this place is super clean and probably the best hotel I've been to.
