Best Western Lockhart Hotel & Suites

Very friendly front desk staff. Decent rooms for the price with a nice comfortable bed and pillows. Convenient location for many restaurants. Which is good, because the breakfast looked bad so we didn’t eat it. Only other negative was as soon as we arrived we noticed the lobby had a very strong, noxious odor as if some sort of food was being prepared. It permitted not only the lobby, but also the elevator, hallway, and even our room. It was making us feel ill, so we cranked the A/C and it helped to dissipate the smell . If not for that and the unappealing breakfast, this would be a 5 star review.

Bed Bugs Beware! Checked into the hotel last night for one night. We received the first room immediately off the right of the lobby. Thankfully we didn’t unpack much but after being at the hotel for 10-15 minutes, we discovered a bed bug. The bug was moving across the pillowcase on one of the queen beds. We immediately grabbed our belongings and checked out. When we informed the front desk staff and showed the photo, they simply said sorry and processed our refund.

This was a very comfortable stay. Hotel room was clean and quiet. Staff was great. There was a good breakfast selection in the morning. Check in was really quick as usual. Would definitely stay at this location again. Last time I was in Lockhart I stayed at a budget hotel just to save a few bucks. It wasn't worth the savings. The amenities and conditions of the hotel couldn't compare to Best Western.

So I’ve waited until after breakfast before reviewing. I know this is not a plus BW, but I found the breakfast disappointing The juices were so watered down they may as well have been water. The sausage links were lukewarm @ best, the eggs were very watery. The coffee machine took three attempts before it dispensed anything. The rooms are clean enough. The man @ check-in was extremely helpful and accommodating so a big 👍🏼 to him. Pool was open and clean, had it to myself. Overall this is only the first of five nights. Just a pity about breakfast
