Best Western Bayou Inn

We stayed here four nights while on a bus trip to New Orleans. Check-in was quick and efficient. The rooms were average size. The bathroom was small, but we did like that we had a walk-in shower. The sink area was outside of the bathroom which was nice for people getting ready in the morning. ||The room appeared clean but the carpet needs to be replaced. There were various things in the rooms that didn't work. The wall outlets didn't work. The small refrigerator froze all of our drinks, even after we turned down the temperature. The remote control for the TV would not work. Each evening we had to find the controls behind the TV in order to tune into the HDMI mode and then to change the channels.||The breakfast area had the same food each day. I had a great two night stay at this hotel. It was too cold to camp at the nearby state park so I got a room for two days. The hotel is very clean and the rooms were large and nicely furnished for this price point. It was a 12 minute drive to downtown. The staff was very friendly and the area was safe. The hotel was safe as well. Some hotels are local party zones and I will not stay at places like that. 5 star experience all the way around.

The hotel itself smells like old mildew or mold. The breakfast was ok, they offered eggs, sausage or bacon (depending on the day) and waffles. Very little. (Also had muffins, bread and 2 cereals) Upon arriving, the lady at the front desk was fantastic! Very upbeat and kind. Gave us hopes of a turnaround from previous reviews… but that’s about all it was. From there, our room had the horrid smell of mold or mildew.. our refrigerator did not work and had water all over the floor and cabinet by it. The toilet was not secured to the floor, so you’d get to wobble around if you needed to sit. The AC did blow cool but it poured water all over the floor. I let the front office know about it and they told me they’d call someone but it would take a while. They couldn’t move us because the hotel was

Staff was wonderful. Rooms were very nice and clean. Breakfast was hot and plentiful. Pool was accessible. Only issue I had was the TV didn't work. Other then that I'd give it a 9.7/10
