Bert Clancy Campground

Beautiful setting right along the river! Bare bones - vault toilets, fire pit (though fires may be prohibited), no privacy between camp sites, no picnic table. No sites were level, and no clear tent pads. The place was pretty trashy - we picked a site that had trash, a stuffed animal toy, a milk crate, and a watermelon rind. Then, a pitiful dog with bloody tumors coming out of her eyes was wandering around the camp ground, waiting for food and scavenging whatever she could find. My boyfriend and I debated whether to take the dog to a shelter, and when a state employee drove through we asked her if she knew about the dog. Yes, apparently the dog belongs to the person who lives near the entrance of the park, and the dog is known to beg for food. So, that was hella depressing. Seems like a po

Stolen gear. Definitely not secure for camping. Wouldn't recommend leaving your camp site to fish or putting anything outside while sleeping. We had to drive down the road for cell service to make an important call, we came back to our stuff gone. With the road right there anyone can pull in load up and drive off. It was late, getting dark and pouring rain we were only gone for maybe 40 mins.

Great spot for fishing access if that's your jam. Sites are long and tight and slightly uphill so note that if you are in an RV or camper with no level kits. Road can be a bit narrow on your way there so be aware if in a big rig. Bathrooms well stocked and clean, quiet area. Beware for kids/dogs that it butts right up against the 2 lane local road with no fencing.

If you have a RV ,travel trailer or 5th wheel I absolutely don't recommend this campsite!!! Every site is soo uneven pretty much impossible to get level, I bent two of my stabilizer trying. The area the surly beautiful but I would not waste my time till the state invested little time and leveled out these campsites.

Didn't like the creekside camping closed and no cellphone service!
