Beechwood Manor

This place, I learned through checking reviews, keeps changing its name to not let people accurately read reviews. My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in July and it could greatly benefit from a grounds grew (yard was a mess and totally unkempt), maintenance crew and much better cleaning crew. The room was in ill repair with things like a sink loose from the wall, burned out lightbulbs, fixtures loose from the walls and the room was poorly appointed with only a half size understair closet that was unfinished and doubled as a storage room. The sheets did not fit the bed and lying in bed at night my husband and I kept thinking we were being bitten by something. By the look of the sheets we wondered if they had been changed. Beautiful Property! Amazing folks ! Made our honeymoon everything we could have asked for given it was the start of the blizzard of March 2018. Our room was not ready upon arrival, but we were well taken care of right up the road for amazing desert and coffee at the Dolphin Inn where they were waiting for us and let us know when our room was ready. Then Joe stood at the end of the driveway to ensure we easily found our way back into the driveway upon returning from the Inn. Fresh made coffee and breakfast delivered to our room in the morning. Beautiful people with Amazing Souls Joe and Julie thank you so very much, we will forever be grateful. The next day when the Blizzard was in full force, these folks not only called around to find a restaurant open for us, they found 3 ! They offered

Julie and Jo, the owners, were friendly and helpful. The room was very big with a nice bathroom and TV. It was spotlessly clean with comfortable beds and nice fresh smelling linen. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully served in a Victorian dining room. We don't eat meat so Julie made vegetarian breakfasts for us. She put herself out for us on several occasions and her husband was always asking if he could help us in any way. All in all I'd recommend it. The outside of the Inn could do with some renovation and it has a lot of potential generally.

We arrived to an unlocked open house and a couple waiting to check in. The owners went to the beach and did not answer any calls to their provided cells. I found a pubic hair and a dead bug in my bed. There was no hand soap in the bathroom and the shower liner is filthy with mold (not to mention the cobwebs). The next morning we found one of the owners who said he would fix these things. We did get soap, but when I climbed into bed my feet hit sand all in the bottom of the sheets. Then I saw the dead bug still nestled in the folds. Disgusting, clearly these sheets were not changed nor cleaned. The owners have other FT jobs so you can't even find them to complain. When I reached Julie on the phone she apologized and said she'd credit some money back, but it never came. Additional

Prepare yourself to feel you are staying with a nice Cape Cod family rather than a typical company run mansion hotel with hired help.||You'll be greeted by a nice young couple who own the place along with their two toddlers and pooches.||They work hard to please and did. The room we stayed in, the Red Room around the porch on the first floor is reputed to be haunted. Did we sense any ghosts? No comment.||It was nicely furnished including a 4-poster bed which although comfortable required a provided stool to barely be able to get into. Didn't see any creepy crawlies, but even if any were hiding they'd need a stool too as the mattress seemed closer to the ceiling than the floor. Well almost.||The couple served a delicious, albeit it light homemade breakfast.||Parking was free and ample and
