Love this County park. I found out about it last summer and it is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to go. The trails are fun and challenging and there are plenty of them. It is easy to go out for a short ride or go for a really long one. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for some trails to ride horse on that aren’t just flat grassland
Our family has stopped to hike here a couple of times. Steep gravel road to drive in to the parking lot, easily driven in our sedan. The parking lot was sufficient both times we have been here. We didn’t encounter anyone else while we hiked the short trail but there were other visitors picnicking and camping in the park. When water levels are low, the kids enjoyed boulder hopping. When water levels were higher we found ourselves swatting mosquitoes most of the afternoon. Be sure to tick check yourself after visiting because we found a few of those little buggers hitchhiking on us!
Some friends and l stayed at the horse camp. It is a very nice campground with good tie lines and level parking. After a hot day of riding we really enjoyed sitting in Beaver Creek that runs alongside the camp. There aren't very many miles of trails, but what there are fun to ride with a few climbs and some areas to water your horse. For as much rain as we've had, l was happily surprised that bugs weren't that bad. The guys working around the park were helpful.
Nice park and trail systems, but the waterfall is best in the spring, after heavy rain, or in late fall.
We were only there for an overnight stay. But WOW!! What a beautiful gem of a camping and nature trail system! Jesse was very informative when I contacted him. We will definitely be coming back! Thank You Renville County Parks! Rhonda Roseboom
