Bears Den Motel

This place is not “The Four Seasons”, but for a small motel in the middle of the north woods it’s pretty awesome! The rooms are very clean & spacious. The shower is tall (which we appreciate, being a tall couple) & has great water pressure! The beds are memory foam & VERY COMFORTABLE! The nearby restaurant (on the same property) has delicious food & great Bloody Mary drinks with breakfast in the morning! The bartenders & servers are very warm & friendly! And lastly, there’s a General Store next door with plenty of provisions, if you forgot anything on your trip! We truly enjoyed our time here & will be back again!

I enjoyed my two day stay at this small town motel. I like that it is set in a quiet and serene rural area. It was good to get away from busy places. The Bears Den Restaurant was right next door, so I did not have to go far to get a hot meal. I also recommend the chicken salad and the patty melt.

Rooms are super comfortable, clean and very new looking. The people are friendly and knowledgeable. The food at the restaurant and bar has large portions and is done to perfection. Just and all around great stay. If you're in the area, don't hesitate to stay here.

Horrible experience with shady proprietors. I booked a stay on 14 Sept for 05 October. Nearly a month in advance. Pre-paid and non-refundable. 3 days before my stay the hotel staff called to say that Expedia (Hotels.com parent company) had overbooked their hotel and they would not honor my reservation. ??? They wanted me to reach out to Expedia (Hotels.com) to cancel my non-refundable reservation. I am not going to do that. I made a reservation about a month in advance pre-paying and knowing that I would not be able to cancel. Bears Den Motel should reach out to Expedia and tell them that THEY cancelled the reservation. I told them to work with Expedia and refund me. They went radio silent.||This feels shady. I think they overbooked the hotel and don't want to deal with Expedia so they ask
