Bear Valley Lodge

What an amazing location and historic building. They are doing updates and making improvements to bring the lodge back to its former glory in the manner of the late 1960s. Take a step back in time, to walk, dine, and ski where celebrities enjoyed a retreat to mountain adventures.

To the owners of the lodge: It is really not okay to run a loud event right in the main atrium where every single guest can hear it, for 5+ hours, stretching past 10pm Saturday night. A lot of your guests need to get up early for ski teams and other on-mountain meetups and are already coming off a night without enough sleep. This is just crazy. And worst thing is, the staff leaves at 7pm, making it impossible for guests to just gently ask whether maybe the event could be wrapped up. It doesn't matter what the event is. You really need to be more respectful of your guests and at least pay for someone to be on premises Saturday night to manage things like this. Surely $180+ per night covers pay for a few additional hours for one staff member.

Very nice stay. Cannot speak to other rooms. But my room had no minifridge, no coffee maker and no microwave. Things that I kinda expect while traveling. Bring ice chest! One ice machine on first floor. Sky High pizza was great, ate there twice. General store was handy. Got coffee at the coffee at the coffee shop twice. Everyone was very nice. My biggest burn was no minifridge. Bring your ice chest!.

Front desk staff super nice, especially Arlene. Helpful with last minute changes to our reservation. They have board games to borrow. Nice open common area with big fire place. On site restaurants are fine - a little salty for our taste. Rooms are good. Wish there were curtains/black out blinds. If you’re a light sleeper being earplugs or a white noise machine. Can hear footsteps easily. Overall would definitely come back. Kids were bummed we had to leave

We had the privilege of working at Bear Valley Lodge this summer and enjoyed every bit of it! We are a team of videographers and loved working here with the staff. Not only is the venue stunning but the staff was so friendly! Highly recommend this venue to any couple. Can't wait to go back!
