Baymont by Wyndham Plymouth

I booked a block for my wedding guests at this hotel and it was the biggest mistake. Almost every interaction I had with the manager and staff at this hotel was awful. It started off with just the minor inconvenience of having to call the hotel back 4 times just to receive the email confirmation of my block. The fourth time I called they informed me that their email system doesn’t work well. Clearly, lol. ||Then, we had several guests inform us that when they called to book, the front desk staff told them they could book only for the Friday night before the wedding or the Saturday night of the wedding, but not both. We enjoyed our stay. We were in town for a family funeral and the location of the Baymont was perfect. The room was very clean and well furnished. I had to laugh because other members of the family were also staying there and my husband and I were 2 out of 8 who figured out that if you untucked the bed pillow and gave it a slight shake, it turned into a large, soft, comfortable bed pillow! We had a good laugh over that during breakfast. Breakfast was good also. My husband would have preferred some sausage and eggs, but I made sure he got some of that this morning after we got home. The pool and hot tub were very nice and were open until midnight. The depot in Plymouth was a recommended restaurant.

My partner and I were in Elkhart Lake for the day and enjoyed it so much, we decided to find a hotel nearby to extend our stay. As a business traveler, I’ve stayed in countless, rather nice/higher end hotels and the occasional express/just off the highway hotels. This Baymont was one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed in… I couldn’t give them any bad marks. The lady at check in was super friendly and then at around check out time I asked the lady who was cleaning the breakfast area if I could grab some juice still and she said of course and even offered to grab us food from the back after she had already taken down all of the breakfast offerings. Not worth the $200 a night I had to pay, but it's a nice place. Room and furniture damage is very minimal, everything was clean, staff was very nice. Breakfast was a little lack luster. This would be $60 or $70 cheaper anywhere else but I'm assuming they inflate the rates because of the proximity to the racetrack.
