This is a decently sized and well maintained park for a small community - there's quite a few areas set up in a row for horse shoe tossing, there's plenty of shade for hot days, a small amount of run off (?) water that attracts creatures like birds (and unfortunately venomous western rattlesnakes too), swing sets, tether ball, quite a few benches & picnic tables, and oddly.... a fireplace? I did see a juvenile western rattler while visiting the park, but I didn't get a picture of him because I was in the process of just getting away from him. Any park in the semi-arid/arid western states are going to have venomous snakes, so anyone who visits needs to be cautious. Nice park in a quiet little town. The park dates at least to the early 1900s. The Bassets founded the town in the 1800s.. Bathrooms had soap and towels. I was given permission to camp for the night by the friendly locals. Lots of birds frequent the park too. Some amazing giant old trees.

I was surprised at how lovely this little park was. I drove up and there was a hen wild turkey with about 12 half- grown pulled sunning themselves and preening. The day was warm, but the cool breeze to wind made it feel perfect. There are big concrete tables and benches to sit at and on. There is a small stream running through the middle. Very quiet and peaceful in a Sat afternoon. Public restrooms that were clean and well supplied with tp and soap and running water. I stayed for several hours. Some tom turkeys showed up around 4 and roamed around foraging. I would spend an afternoon the again.

A peaceful respite in the long trek through Eastern Washington. There's room to walk, pleasant places to sit in the shade, and the only sounds I could hear were birds chirping, cawing, and flapping their wings.
