Bass Lake Resort & RV Campgrounds New York

First, I want to apologize for taking so long to write this review. We strongly believe that a positive experience should be publicized, as much as a negative one. Second, we want to thank the staff of Bass Lake Resort for the amazing time that we had during our stay during the first two weeks of August. ||We appreciated receiving the very informative e-mail shortly before our arrival. This allowed us to plan our trip, for example which night we would like to go to the cafe. We also appreciated that this information was available in print form upon our arrival. We also like the way the activities schedule was posted in multiple locations. Before we arrived I read many reviews saying that this place was run down and the people were miserable. This was NOT the case for us. The employees were very friendly and the campground itself was well kept and the perfect amount of children laughing and quiet. Any dogs barking were at a minimum and not at all bothering. Kids playing on the playground and at the pool we're not overly loud. Maybe I got lucky but I have nothing negative to say about the place. We did a 1 hour tour where they do try to sell you a "membership" that was a bit expensive but to others it might be a good deal. We “won” a 3-day, 2-night stay, which was nothing more than a pathetic sales trap. The entire pitch was them begging us to drop $17,500 on a “membership” that gives you… absolutely nothing worth having. You still have to pay $200 a night to stay in their crappy little cabins with AC units that belong in a junkyard, eat in a restaurant that smells like sewage, and maybe take a dip in their disgusting “heated pool” that looks more like a swamp than a place for people. The funniest part? They kept bragging that they’re “better than public camping sites.” Oh please. At least public campgrounds don’t try to scam you out of $17k while offering the same (or actually better) experience. We were givin a free weekend with our new camper and little did we know it is a time share resort.. they'll tell you it's not but it's a lie. They tried to sell as a $15k time share and I was upset. We came to camp as a family for the first time and they ruined a whole day of much needed family time. The showers are awful and the sites are packed in like no other camp site. Beware!!!!!!

Easily one of the worst places I have ever been to. They are very pushy about their packages between $10,000 - $17,500 one time and ofcourse $500-$1000 maintenance fees (which barely seems to be done). They have been pushing us for a year and we just kept saying no. This last time we "won" a free 7day/6night stay in a cabin. We left within 24 hours. And after the tours you see these beautiful looking cabins inside and out. But once you accept the offer of "free" and get there you are put into a dumpy trailer that has many issues. Floors coming apart. Ac barely works. Rock style bed. Very small and not nice at all. And its valued at $200/night on top of those membership fees. Cell service is barely existent, they advertise wifi in the park but doesn't work at that end apparently. The staff
