Very pretty area along a creek grassy area with picnic tables & a short hike is possible if you are willing to scramble over some fallen rocks. The one thing I hated was the RIDICULOUS amount of flies! (MOSTLY getting into my camper) There was some onions left on one grill at the front of the park- but not a huge amount of trash at all. In general looked pretty clean. Didn't notice the flies much when outside walking around. So weird. Oh, the balancing rock is NOT at the park- its about a mile up the road. Pretty area- but I was not terribly impressed with the balancing rock... interesting however.
UPDATE: Paradise lost We came here last year and became completely enamoured with the stunning beauty of this place, we absolutely had to return. Upon pulling in, we noticed a horrible change. The roads are badly rutted, trash everwhere, the grass is dead in places, tree branches hanging down so far our RV had no way of driving under them, a resident drunk, and people using this as a place to do their “business” in the back seat of their cars. I don’t think the maintenance person cares as much as the person doing the maintenance a year ago when we were here. The grass along the waters edge used to be trimmed up so you could sit on the edge and enjoy the stream. Now it’s very overgrown and you can’t get near the water unless you find a muddy outcropping. There’s algae across large portions
A hidden gem in the farmland! The park is nestled down in a little canyon & feels like a hidden oasis. It's not large, but there are quite a few picnic & camp spots. Just dry camping & most the spots are small or just for tents, there were a couple spots at the end that could accommodate a mid size trailer or motorhome, but I would check before you drive anything big back there. Turnaround spot at the end, but the day we were there, people were parking back there & it was tight. Beautiful calm stream with clear water: we saw lots of kayaking & hiked up the trail--looks like it would be perfect to hike up & the tube back to the park. The trail is hidden at the very last campsite: go to the left around a big rock to see the start. Easy walking trail: goes maybe a half mile up the canyo
It was a great place!! Bathrooms but no running water from what I saw, at least it was turned off. Fun to be by the river. Swing set. Tables and a covering. Plenty of room. The entrance was a little hidden so it is easy to miss.
Very nice spot to camp lots of walking paths.
