Stayed here for the first time last week for 8 days. Had a great stay, it’s in a dope location across from the North Shore. You can hear the ocean at night in bed. Laid back environment in the cabins, lights out at 10 for most. Had no trouble sleeping. It gets a bit cold at night but they provide extra blankets if you ask! Cabins were cozy and got to meet some other fellow travelers and made great connections. Location is also close to Foodland which is also a plus. Would recommend to anyone!

We were in Cabins 3 and 4 and they were perfect for our family of 10! Everything was remodeled and very clean and our granddaughters loved the chickens and bugs/lizards/snails around the property. The kids (staff) staying in the back cabin were awesome and checked on us whenever they went by to see if we needed anything. Would highly recommend!

Staying at this hostel was the best decision we made when traveling through the North Shore. We had a private cabin, number 3, which was remodeled and sat in the front of the lawn with a direct view of the ocean. Though it was not cheap ($300 per night), it was well worth every dollar. Remember, it’s a hostel, nothing fancy at all. With that said, cabin number 3 had two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom. What more could you need for up to 4 people? Many reviews talk about the lack of air conditioning. I can’t deny that we were startled at first at how hot it is, but considering the point is not to stay in the house during the day and at night the cabin gets really cool with the fans, this never became an issue. If anything, we got chilly at night with all the fans we had. Nothing beats

If you’re just looking for a bed on the North Shore, this is as good as it gets for budget travel in a relatively expensive area. Easy walk to some proper beaches and surf spots, some decent food options, and a grocery store. The cabins are on a separate property from the main office where you check in, which was odd but not a far walk or drive. The cabins have kitchens so if you’re staying for a while, the grocery store is super convenient. The staff are mostly young (stoner) girls and the vibes are a bit “once upon a time in Hollywood” ranch. It’s all about the location with this place. Some great people stay here so it’s a good chance to meet fellow travelers. The only true downside were the roosters at 4/5am but that’s what you come to expect in Hawaii.

As we're of an older generation (here for my partner's 70th birthday) we don’t generally go for backpacker accommodation but this place is awesome. We had a private studio in the beach house and the balcony view is fantastic, right on the beach. We walked to Pipeline and Sunset in less than an hour an actually got some pretty decent waves, woohoo! It's a short walk to Waimea Bay and Waimea Valley. The Foodland grocery store nearby has great fresh food options. The bus stop is only a couple of minutes away and it's only a few dollars for a one-way trip, even all the way to Honolulu. The room was perfect for us, yes there's no aircon but with so much to do outside you're really only going in there to sleep and we had a pedestal fan by the bed. To top it off they had free wi-fi, free snorkell
