Ayres Hotel Laguna Woods - Aliso Viejo

Our experience was unfortunate. We searched for a location close to where our festivities were going to be. The location was great. The hotel itself is old. Drapes in the room thin from wear and tear and dirty. Breakfast was fabulous. Here is where we had to make the decision to cut our stay short and move to another hotel. We searched for a hotel that had a hot tub / spa. While we waited for our room to be ready we sat in the pool area. There was a note on the hot tub "out of service". When we inquired at the desk we were told that they have a hot tub, the jets are just not working. Seriously, that is how you respond to a customer?! I am currently recovering from surgery and my partner has had multiple surgeries and requires hot tub / spa treatments. Were we told that they had the parts b

Positive: The included hot breakfast and evening reception. The pool and the hot tub are also wonderful. The staff is very friendly. There was also plenty of access for electric vehicle charging Negative: The rooms could use some technical upgrades.

I enjoyed my stay at the Ayres Aliso Viejo Hotel. Most everything was great! My room was clean and neat. The bed was comfortable, which is saying a lot since I rarely find them so. The food selection at breakfast and the evening reception (Monday through Thursday only) was delicious and generous. My only suggestion would be to offer breakfast until 10:00 am.

Best hotel ever. The lounge was so warm and welcoming. We sat by that fireplace quite a bit to recover from the day. Arrived to find a free happy hour. The free breakfast was the best I've ever had at a hotel. People were very friendly. We were there for a sad occasion and our stay gave us great comfort.

Compared to the Chino Hills location this location is lacking. Rooms are 1 step worse, tiles, AC units... The lobby feels cheaper. The building layout is a weird U shape where the bottom of the U only has 2 single elevators in different locations and the top of the U has stairs. These are small, but my biggest complaint is the breakfast layout. At Chino Hills I could self serve all of my food other than the special order omelettes, which I never got . This location it is controlled by the chef. There is a tip jar in front of the serve section and makes me not interested in talking to them. I actually haven't gotten any warm food and not super impressed with their cold options. The bread items are lower quality and not as plentiful. No bagels. They also hide the larger plates with the chef.
