When I arrived they tried to bill me for 4 days and I informed them that I was only staying one. I even showed them my receipt on my phone. They said they would take care of it. Guess what??? They billed me for 4 days. When I checked out they charged me the full room rate $200/night (which ironically only had 2 days on it so why am I charged for 4 days?). I showed them I was rewards member and the rate should be less. I again showed them my reservation confirmation which had the reduced $165/night rate and they said the manager would contact me. Guess what??? No phone call as of 4 days later. I also logged onto my rewards account I got the points for the lower cost but charged for the higher rate. Positive: The hotel is pretty darn good for the price. Its nothing extravagant and the king rooms are pretty small but it is CLEAN and nice. Negative: Breakfast is grab and go and ends pretty soon.

Lorena, the front desk agent was very rude. She did not greet me at all. I took the initiative trying to open up a dialog with her. I said hello what's going on, are you not going to say hello or how may I help, are you having a bad day? she completely ignored me. Then she asked for my ID and card for payment. I handed it to her she checked the computer screen then literally through it back on the desk for me to pick it up. I was speechless. She then throw back the room key as well. Not a word from her. I went up to my room and the room was a room with two double bed when the reservation I made was for a king bed. I went back down and informed her that I was given the wrong room. Very disappointing experience at Avid Hotel Midland, Texas. After driving all day, I checked in and was approved by the manager for a late checkout (2 PM) the next day. The following morning, two housekeepers knocked and woke me up before the 11 AM checkout. I politely told them I had a late checkout. Shortly after, a front desk employee came and started banging on my door, accusing me of being rude to housekeeping and telling me I had to leave immediately. When I explained that I had an authorized late checkout, he insisted I did not and refused to give me a manager’s number when I asked.
