At The Ridge

The grounds are perfectly situated in the forest with a marvelous water feature running through the campground and reliable FHU. The owner, who lives on-site, is welcoming, friendly, and helpful. It is a quiet area with easy access to many outdoor activities, hiking, water falls, and Brevard, NC. WiFi is provided but the location is challenging for a strong signal. There is a community center about 1 mile from the campground that provides WiFi with a stronger signal.

Just finished our second stay at The Ridge. We stay in cabin 7. We bring our small child and it’s an amazing experience every time. The property is very peaceful and you feel right in nature but not too far removed. Tom the owner is a super nice guy and all his staff is very helpful. Cabins are always clean, showers are always clean and the water is hot, toilets clean as well and plumbing works perfectly. The natural brook outside with the little waterfall ads to the ambiance and I love sitting on the rocks and listening to the trees. Every cabin has its own fire pit and grill. If you love privacy, disconnecting from society for a bit, and being in a serene setting I highly suggest booking here. Also you can not beat the price! I loved the small cabin #1 on Carrie and Tom's land. It was the perfect amount of space for two people. Tom was super friendly and made his rounds everyday to make sure we had everything we needed. The river was so close we could walk right down and fish. The grounds were well kept clean and always kept warm in 20 degree low temps with plenty of heaters and an extra blanket to hang over our door for extra warmth. We will be coming back in the spring and summer and bringing friends for sure to enjoy with us! A+++++

I stayed in cabin 1. It was a little more rustic than I expected. That being said it made for a true mountain camping experience. Fell asleep to the sound of the Stream running. Matress was super comfortable, space heater kept the room warm. Electric all worked. Hot showers and clean bathrooms. It’s not the ritz Carlton but who needs that? Very peaceful and plenty of space from other campers. The hosts were very accommodating and friendly. It was nice having the gas station/convenience store less than a mile away in balsam grove. I would definitely camp here again!!!

TLDR: The price was great. The dogs loved it. The staff was super friendly. I would return again. This place served as a base camp for our group while we hiked several trails in the surrounding area. Make no mistake these are minimalist cabins. You get a bed, microwave, K-Cup coffee maker, mini fridge, heater, A/C unit, and a couple of outlets. Getting There: The facility was easy to find. I would caution against using Davidson River Rd. It's very rough as tracked equipment has left some harsh tracks in the road limiting speeds to 10-15mph. Better to come down Hwy 64 to Rosman and up NC-215. Check-in: Easy. Show up to your cabin and start making yourself at home. Staff will make rounds as necessary.
