Ashford Motel

Was booked at reasonable rate via booking.com, the hotel charged us again at full rate and said to booking.com we were a no show. We told the hotel we booked thru booking.com, but it was a teenage boy on reception dealing with us rather than the owners.||Argued for three weeks back and forth and eventually got refunded the cheaper rate.||The place was old and needs some tlc would be ok at booking.com rate but definitely not worth the higher rate.||Definitely do not recommend just for the hassle, I got myoney back but only because I pursued it and kept prompting.

Was looking for a cheap place to stay while visiting UConn as a prosective grad student. I had planned on being there for three nights. Now, I don't need much. A bed, a shower, and a couple outlets to charge my phone would be enough for me. It's a cheap motel so I wasn't expecting much. My room (14) was clearly pretty dingey. Stains on the bedding, weird spots on the walls, crumbs under the chair cushions. I could honestly deal with all that just fine, but at about 2AM I spotted something scurry across the bed as I was watching TV. Instinstively I smacked it with the remote, and lo and behold - bed bug. I spent the next few hours frantically scouring the room for more of them. I never saw any more but it's hard to believe there was just one. I've heard too many horror stories about infesta

I am going to attach some photos because I understand that the prior comments have probably turned many away. If just to ease some minds, they had my room really clean, everything stocked and neat, staff was polite. Now I get that this might of just been this room, I don't know, but was an exceptional stay for the night and price. No issues.

Positive: Great pricing and very good value. Bed was very comfortable and shower was spot on. Room was very clean. Motel reminded me of ones my family stayed at when I was a kid. Negative: Some would say the room was dated, but I think that added to the charm. Close to highway, but a little off the beaten path.

Cheap. Has a TV, shower, bed, 800 watt microwave, 4 walls & a roof. Non-smoking smelled tuff like an ash tray. People don't care prior I'm sure. Service very good. No pets.
