Art Hostel

I’d like to share a summary of my stay at the Art Hostel. I consider myself lucky that I booked just one night. It’s a very shady place with what seemed like criminals living there as guests. The sheets and pillows were unpleasant and had an odor. The blanket was old, worn out, and too small to cover me completely, which caused me to experience itching while trying to sleep. I couldn’t get any rest. There was an older man sleeping next to me who was watching something on his phone. I politely asked him to use headphones, but he ignored my request and replied, “I live here.” I was surprised because I thought it was a hostel, not a rental property, and there were no apparent quiet hours. Stay away from this place… they completely lack in communication and customer service… staff member Chris has a horrible attitude and they could care less about customers… ||They lie on their Q&A and so it should not be replied upon… ||Takes 5 hours for them to respond and my experience was mostly they didn’t respond for days… neither by phone or email or through booking site app communication

VOLUNTEER REVIEW🚨 HOSTEL AREA SCAM,UNSAFE AND DIRTY!!! shootouts, homeless people trying to enter the property, and drug addicts sit on front steps. A guest brought a weapon into property and threatened others. Owner took no action. HOSTEL IS DANGEROUS AND DOES NOT LOOK LIKE PICTURES!!! on top of being afraid to go outside. I volunteered here for 2 weeks and my life was at risk. The owner allowed a stranger to volunteer with me and allowed him to give DIRTY SHEETS to guests. When I said something I was told "if it's a problem I'll replace you" then told me to STOP cleaning because I did not sweep up my PERSONAL area. At 10am the next day he said I had to CLEAN to SLEEP there or I had to leave at 11am. When I did not respond fast enough I was KICKED OUT with no place to go. After reviewing

Well, to expensive for what the offer. As hostel I understand could be better in all. Room not really clean, people work in the “living room/kitchen” if you have the private room (is what I had) you need to wait after 10pm for relax or sleep because before people work with meeting and to be honest wasn’t uncomfortable! The area also is not the best, if you leave in Miami it’s fine but with no car you have to get lot of taxi/Uber… no cheap at all.

Sooo...... Setting up expectations here. This is a nice place.... If you are travelling solo and know what a hostel is. The shared places are nice and the outside patio as well (spent most of my time doing work from there). The owner only speaks Spanish so be ready to use Google translate. But I didn't have much problem. The beds etc are what you expect from a hostel . Don't expect shining things. And you will be fine.
