Anita Grand Motel

We love little Americana Motels. Well, you know ones that are clean and updated. Toys little hidden gem is very clean and cozy. It's like a B & B. The owner Sandra is the sweetest lady ever. She really made us feel at home. We are already planning a return visit !

Very quiet and nice microwave and refrigerator amenities. However, your experience probably depends on the room you get. Our room was not renovated, smelled musty, and wasn't particularly clean. My young son found a lighter and casino card under the bed and when I looked under the beds I saw lots of other items as well. I was glad we were leaving soon. Motel advertised as providing a variety of items for breakfast (oatmeal, cereal, hot chocolate, pastries etc), but we were only offered donuts and coffee. Not my idea of breakfast or appropriate for children. Was dog friendly and staff was nice.

This was by far one of the best experiences I have ever had staying in a motel or even a hotel. Sandra the owner was just the best, I immediately felt so welcomed and comfortable. The rooms were adorable and super clean, and first thing in the morning we got coffee and donuts. I can't wait to find myself going cross country again just to stay here one more time.

We needed a place to sleep after travelling all day, and all other surrounding motels were booked. The manager/owner was understanding and had one room available which we took. Their kindness and smiling attitudes are the reason this rating is higher. I entered the room and was immediately attacked by a hornet. I managed to kill it, only to find it was not the sole dead bug on the floor. There were dead bugs everywhere, especially in the bathroom. Since there were no dead bugs in the bed, we chanced it and went to sleep. The room smelled like my great grandmother's basement, which if that's your thing this is the place for you. Had to find a place to settle down for the night on a cross country road trip with my daughter. Pulled off of I-80 in Anita, Iowa. Very tired and late. Came across the Anita Grand Motel. As stated in previous review - owners are very nice and charming. They are really nice people. Place has more of a bed and breakfast feel than a motel. I recommend it.
