My wife and I recently stayed in the lovely Guardian Angel Bed and Breakfast which is about 10 quick miles from Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame. We stayed there on the recommendation of one of the Bed and Breakfast owners from downtown Cooperstown, since everything close to the Hall of Fame was sold out. We are so glad we listened. The Host, Holly couldn't have been nicer, and her place is just beautiful. The rooms were great, the breakfast was great, and the setting couldn't have been more peaceful and beautiful. Rental house is owned by Doug and Holly. Future renters should be aware that while Doug is a phenomenal host who is polite, incredibly generous and a very friendly man, Holly is the exact opposite. Holly is irrational and has a quick temper. The week that we stayed there she had two unprovoked outbursts, slammed doors in our faces and listened to our conversations through the walls. If there were actions that were disagreed upon on our part they were not addressed she would simply scream and then slam a door as she stormed off. The biggest complaint was that she would throw her temper tantrums in front of our 9 year old daughter leaving us to explain that Ms. Holly was just having a bad day (again). It's not always easy to find such lovely, warm and hospitable accommodations when travelling with kids. The suite we had while staying at the Guardian Angel Bed and Breakfast was just perfect for a family of four. Our 2 girls had their own little room that shared a bath with ours. We had a delightful balcony that overlooked lush gardens and rolling hills. It was charming and pristine. Last but not least, Holly, our innkeeper could not have been more pleasant or welcoming. My wife and I have spent considerable time at B & B's in upstate NY, and found this one to be a little treasure. Great views, spotless rooms, lovely family and friendly dog, (Brandy).||Food was simple but well presented.||Hospitality first rate. Pretty grounds with old barn to explore across the street.||Follow directions closely, easy to get lost, especially at night! Bring a fully charged cell phone.|
