Anchorage

No breakfast but a nice view of Lake Champlain. Plenty of parking but you will need to drive to a restaurant for meals. The WiFi was intermittent and may be turned off at night. Some rooms appeared to be longterm rentals.|We were not overly impressed and the price seemed excessive for the room we had. .

Very nice people Interesting history. Rooms are adequate. Nice sheets, clean and smooth. Housekeeping cleaning needs more attention to cleaning of furniture, walls and floor. (Shower curtain needs washing badly, previous guests were eating instant ramen noodles as evidenced on floor around mini-fridge.) We had a very quiet night in a smoke free room- could hear church bells in the morning. With a little more loving upkeep, this place I'd gladly return to.

I called about booking a room. The first call, in the middle of the day, was answered by a fax machine. After checking with the local chamber of commerce to verify they were still in business, I called again. Fax machine again, but someone picked up. After the fax tones quit, he said no one was there and to call back that night. I did so, but there was no answer. As reasonable cost lodging is hard to come by in the area, I called back the next day, a Thursday. The same guy took my name and number and said someone would call that evening. No one did. I called again Friday, was assured he had passed along my info, and someone would call that weekend. Well, it’s Monday, no call. My suggestion is not to bother trying to do business here, they apparently don’t need it.

The Anchorage was very quaint in my opinion. It offered everything we needed and even accepted our furry friends. We arrived at 4am and were met with a warm welcome given the time of day! The Anchorage could use some updating but if you’re simply needing a place to stay with no fancy frills this place is a great option. We paid just a little over 100$ for two nights and woke up to a beautiful view of the lake which is right across the street. The town was also very quaint and cute. There was a beautiful little coffee shop that provided us coffee and a good light breakfast. Despite the horrible reviews, I didn’t see any cockroaches, I saw a couple flies but that’s nothing. There were cob webs in some of the corners but I wasn’t worried about that. I did NOT wake up to bugs biting me or see

I was afraid for my feet to touch to carpet but there are not alot of options in this area. I would ask to see the room before paying if your picky. I just really needed a bed after a 14 hour motorcycle ride so I was greatful.
