Toilet was unseated from floor, wobbled when I sat on it. Heater made noise if it was on for any extended period of time. Opted to turn it off rather than listen to it grind and click all night. Ceiling tiles in bathroom are stained and in bad shape, bath mat had a stain on it. Room windows were very dirty as were the breakfast nook tables in the morning. Breakfast options were amusing - powdered-sugar mini donuts and mini muffins set out in the bakery cases and cold eggs. Sausage links were fine. Pool was closed, and there's really nothing else to do on the property or in the area around the hotel. Cleaning staff vacuums the hallways outside guest rooms in the morning before checkout. This hotel is near the PioneerTrail, making it perfect for a cycling tour. A day’s ride to Waterloo, just the right way station . What delighted me was the welcome from the proprietor who greeted me by name and pointed out the features of the hotel. Considerately, I was given the closest room to which to wheel by bike . The room is clean and modern. The pool is clean and in a beautiful vaulted enclosure. The breakfast was fine. The price was a bargain. I’ve gotten much less paying much more.

Staff were polite from when I called them to leaving. The room was displeasing the windows ledge was filthy, the top of the air-conditioner was disgusting. We could feel the dirty Ness . Behind the night table was horrible so disgusting the dust is thick. The bathtub the drainer didn't close so that bath that I was looking forward to went down the drain. So no soaking in a hot bath with Epsom salt big let down disappointed. So my over all experience here at AmericInn By Wyndham located in Grundy, Cener, IA was a huge disappointment and for how much we paid for it we should have been been refunded 100%. Hotel is older. Room had stain on top comforter, could’ve been cleaner. Breakfast was great. It’s an ok place to stay for 1 night when you just need somewhere to sleep. Felt the pricing was overpriced for quality.
