Americas Best Value Inn & Suites Pinckneyville

Positive: It was a place somewhat near our destination that wasn’t $--- a night Negative: Staff didn’t know if people in our room or not when we checked in. There was a lot of water on the bathroom floor when we came in. Breakfast the orange juice was expired and red and the other juice was just water. The muffins tasted like card board.

I’ve stayed there 100 times … I’m a regular customer … and it’s not like they have many out in the boondocks in the middle of nowhere … MY MOM DIED …. I had until midnight to cancel free for a damn $50 room … THE WEBSITE KEPT KICKING ME OUT at 11:54pm to cancel (NOT MY FAULT) so I emailed the next morning explaining and THEY DIDN’T CARE they still took my money SO NOW staying there literally 3x a month won’t be happening. I’ll drive the extra 15 minutes to stay somewhere not so money hungry. AND THAT’S A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF EXACTLY HOW YOU LOSE REGULAR CUSTOMERS

Pool was "closed for the season" but not advertised as such — we only booked here since it had a pool. Our smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling by its wires, wrapped in a plastic bag with a bungy hair tie (room 103). There were dead bugs on our floor. Person at the counter did not get off her personal cell phone while checking us in. We booked for 4 in our reservation and there were only 3 towels. The security locks need to be screwed in again, I could wiggle the door open. One of two of our room keys stopped working after 12 hours. Our neighbors room was gone through while we were gone and their belongings thrown around on the floor. When the front desk was confronted they said "we can go into your room at anytime" fine — but not looking through their belongings, they changed the

Terrible hotel. We only booked here for the pool to let the kids do something. Our mattress had a massive stain, my kids brought me a cockroach trap, the towels were dirty and I didn’t realize it till I went to get out of the shower. The shower rod was hanging off the wall. The front desk person sat on their phone during check in. Our friends approached about a situation and staff was extremely disrespectful! DO NOT LEAVE ANY BELONGINGS IN YOUR ROOM! They said they can enter the room at any point, regardless of the do not disturb sign on the door. The pillow cases had stains on them.

Great price but you definitely get what you pay for. I reserved the spa suite and it had no plug to fill it up. I asked the front desk but was told to use a rag to plug it. The Continental breakfast was a joke, no napkins, no juice and nobody was around to ask for the stuff missing. Very disappointed
