Americas Best Value Inn Stonington Mystic

I must admit i was wary about this place from the beginning but i am happy to report that i was pleasantly surprised. They ran out of king size beds when i booked so we rented the queen size. My husband is 6 feet. so i was afraid this would not work but we slept great! my only complaint is no hot water in the bathroom. but the sink in the kitchen area had warm water so we still were able to wash up. In our room we had a fridge with separate freezer. a sink in the kitchen area and a microwave. stand up shower in bathroom. all in all we were happy with out stay.

Positive: absolutely nothing Negative: yes-everything. it was disgusting we could not stay there. false advertisement. rooms looked NOTHING like clean, crisp, modern room photos online. filthy, neglected as far as normal cleanliness and building maintenance.

My husband and I selected this hotel based on price. It is a simple basic needs hotel. We found it to be clean and adequate for the night. The bathroom was brand new and everything was clean. The bed was comfortable. It isn’t plush, but if you are looking for a bed and shower that is clean, and not far from the beach, this is the place! Definitely beats $200-$300+ over priced rooms simply for location.

The room itself is good for its price in a good location for mystic and Misquamicut beach. About 20 minutes drive to both. The service was horrible. They only came around at 12 and wouldn’t come in if you are in there. Or even come back later. We spend the last two days in the room and left later than usual to the activities around town. The trash was building up due to only two extremely small trash cans. Also they banged aggressively on the door completely scaring us during a nap. Wasn’t the worst hotel for a last minute trip but will not be coming back again

The pictures on Expedia appear to be taken immediately after renovations or something. The reality is nothing like that. The place has not bene taken care of and you can tell as soon as you pull up which gets worse when you walk in the door. Dirty walls, dirty molding. The door was gross. Disgusting musty odor that would not go away even with the windows left open all day. The floor wasn’t vacuumed. The fridge was dirty. Wiring job on the tv was absurd. Tv is too small to watch while laying in bed. It really seems like the owners don’t really care about the place and are just collecting a check. Many of these complaints are easy fixes if they cared. We wanted to leave but didn’t want to waste our money. My wife didn’t even want to do what married couples do cause she was so disgusted 😩
