American Inn

We booked two rooms at American Inn for a quick stop on our way to a family reunion. Both our families were traveling together and just needed a comfortable place to rest for the night. Honestly, we didn’t have high expectations, but the pictures online made the place look solid. We arrived around 8 after a long day on the road, ready to check in and grab some dinner. Pulling into the parking lot, we immediately felt welcome—the lot was well-lit, and the other guests seemed friendly and relaxed. Check-in was smooth and quick. Our rooms, 101 and 102, looked exactly like the photos online. Clean, well-kept, and inviting. The beds were not very luxurious but pretty comfortable, the bathrooms were different - one with a shower, another one with a bathtub. We slept well and woke up refreshed,

I needed to spend a few days away from my family, so I decided to go to Washington for the weekend. I found this place to be the most affordable hotel in Washington, MO, and I really liked that each room has its own unique character. During my stay, I had to switch rooms because my first one had already been booked by someone else. When I moved to the new room, I was surprised to see that it was decorated completely differently, but just as nice. It’s definitely not your typical franchise hotel where every room looks exactly the same.

The pictures on the website are deceiving! Yes they are decorated the same but I don't think they haven't cleaned them since then! Everywhere was dirty, stained, torn, and smelled. The bathroom light was on a censor and only stayed on for 15 seconds then you had to open the door to turn it back on or move in just the right spot to trigger it. The area around the sink looked like it had never been cleaned. The floors were so bad we didn't take our shoes off for fear of catching something. The beds......thin, flat pillows in old ratty cases on a thin mattress with a comforter that had all kinds of stains and holes on it! Didn't touch that either! The refrigerator smelled, the microwave was dirty! All in all a nightmare of a stay. Unfortunately we were not in a position to move to another h

Not a bad place to stay! The rooms are clean, the proprietor is friendly and quick to help, while noticeably more affordable than super 8. Definitely would reccomend!

I stayed at American Inn and was very pleased with my experience. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Quiet environment, a great bed, and quick check-in — everything was top-notch. A great place to stay, I definitely recommend it!
