American Hotel

I had to update my review because apparently the extremely unprofessional front desk lady I dealt with in the past is no longer there. The new front desk person, or at least the one i interacted with, Debby, was very friendly and personable. The rooms are obviously nothing special and you have to go out into the hallway to use a microwave, but for the price you pay you shouldn't expect the Four Seasons. The rooms are cheap and in my experience clean.

After reading reviews I am convinced people expect a champagne experience for a beer budget. This hotel was perfect for our family. When we get together we take over a hotel. The owner was very accommodating and gracious. They even put new furniture in the lobby during our stay which gave us plenty of seating to congregate. Our room was clean and spacious [upgraded to suite] and a new sofa and chair were brought in there too. I was charged exactly what was agreed upon. Will most definately stay the again when in the area.

The amenities were all right. A supposed computer glitch led my room getting cleaned and a substantial amount of cash 'disappearing'. Police were called and an investigation opened. Edit to add information after the owner responded: the police investigation was closed three weeks afterwards for lack of evidence due to there not being cameras in the hallway where my room was and staff not being available for interviews. To add to that, my card was charged $300 three months after the fact and when I called for information as to why, I received no assistance and my bank would not refund me without the American Motel reimburing them. Essentially, I see this establishment as being a den of thieves and I am embarrassed to have stayed there. Have a fantastic day!

My husband and I have spent two separate occasions at this Motel and could not be happier! The location is wonderful, the rooms are comfortable and pleasant, and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful! We always plan to stay here when we come to Waseca!

The staff at this hotel is amazing, we stayed here while transitioning to a new home. They were so helpful and accomadating. Room was good. Great place.
