The staff here is amazingly nice and helpful! Only thing is the tv is sideways other then that it's the best value around in town and very safe and quiet other then being by a highway

While travelling through South Dakota with a friend of mine we were in need of lodging on Highway 212 and arrived in Redfield which bills itself as the pheasant capital of the world! We'd checked out the available accommodations and there's not a large selection so we chose the Wilson Motor Inn and were pleasantly surprised. The Wilson is a classic old single story motel built alongside the highway. The building faces a large gravel parking lot (great since we had a boat trailer attached) and a strip of vegetation. Easy access and egress for almost any vehicle or vehicle combination. The Manager, Duane Puffer, is a taciturn fellow. He gets things done but don't expect to engage in lengthy conversation. Perfect motel to rest your head for either an extended or short period of time. Cozy, friendly, management do their best to serve you as a customer (complimentary ice, coffee, WiFi, and refresh of towels), and hospitable staff. I also LOVE the retro-vintage style! Happy the new management took over to reopened this little interstate gem. Definitely coming back.

I love staying at this classic old school motel when I return to Redfield to see my mom. It’s clean and the beds and pillows are very comfortable. It’s also inexpensive. But sadly, the owner, Mr. Duane Puffer, passed away in the fall of 2023 and his daughter is looking for a buyer. The last time I stayed there in November, she stated that it will be closed at the end of the year. I will really miss staying there in the future.

It’s nice, a little old fashioned and dated. But well built and clean. Staff was great. They may need to upgrade their phones and, at least put the TV on a swivel mount or move it.
