I love Alpine. Palasides is typically packed with people and Alpine was wide open most of the day. The demo ski rental was a simple process and I was able to switch out skiis in the middle of the day. Granted, I was lucky to get through Donner pass on Wednesday night to ski Thursday and Friday. The mountian received 9.25 feet of snow that week and it was dumping Wednesday night and all day Thursday. Feiday was a bluebird day and probably one of the best powder skiing days of my life! The mountian crew did a phenomenal job digging out the lifts to keep most of them opened. They wee also on top of avalanche control with this particular mountian is prone too. I want to recommend this sko resort because it is my favorite but at the same time I don't want any more skiers than there already is.

We've skied and hiked the Olympic Valley side of Palisades Tahoe more then a handful of times but have never visited Alpine Meadows until today's hike. The resort area is not as built out as the Olympic Valley side but the terrain here looks just as amazing. Hiked up to the top of Chip's Challenge to take in the views. It took about an hour out and back from the base of the resort.

Mostly Blue runs with good signage. The runs were pretty good, but a little on the short side. Going from Scotts top to bottom was good, but I was longing for more of that. Front lift should have been 6-8 People, not 4. At least 2 lifts were painful to ride as there was no back support. Grading was terrible in some areas. 5+ runs were hard to get too.

We couldn’t be more impressed with the staff culture. We’re staying in the area for a month and we got a locker here. Staff go out of the way to help us feel welcome and make our experience magical. Food service staff, staff in the shop, lift operators, parking guys, ski patrol/first aide (Shay!), instructors (John, Randy, Tristan, gabby, Izzy,Easton!). They’ve all been incredible. I have an interaction almost everyday that makes my wife and I mention to each other how special this place is. We have 5 kids 11 and under, and having a special atmosphere like this has made all the difference in helping our family have a special experience. Snow is great and lots of runs are groomed Thank you to everyone!!!

Skid this side of palisades a few times and can say this is my favorite for beginners looking to practice blues. The blues can be challenging if they are your first blues but definitely good if you have been on a couple blues to practice. Weasel is the easiest and where I practice the most off of. Roundhouse and Sherley Woods are now where I find my challenging runs.
