Aloft Miami Dadeland

Positive: The happy hour and free coffee and hot water each morning. Negative: Lack of English. Some staff used devices to communicate. But this is the greater continental U.S. why did I feel like I was in an international vacation?

For the money you can’t ask for more. The people are nice and the location convenient. The hotel was recently renovated and has a modern design with bright colors. I recomendó you select the breakfast to be included in the room price. The parking was on the ground level and it was free. They also have a dog park and the hotel is pet friendly. Try it. You will love it.

My wife and I stayed at this location this previous weekend to celebrate her birthday & Caribbean Carnival week in Miami. Big thank you to Andree who took care of me upon arrival and also with me reaching out to the hotel on our way down to Miami. He helped us get an early check in and due to a 4 hour drive ensure we were set when reaching the hotel. The hotel rooms were very clean and cozy. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the hotel along side a bar to get your drink on. Little pool side action with pool side seating. Entire staff at the location were all night.

This hotel had toilets so close to the floor your knees were almost chest height. Ok for kids but definitely not for adults. The shower floor was extremely slippery. The pillows were too soft and floppy - not the standard Marriott pillows which we’ve always liked. The positives: nice staff, nice pool area.

So even after reading the reviews on noise and whatnot I decided to give it a shot. Since aloft is a Marriott brand I usually have positive stays. Check in was smooth and easy. Got to the room and it’s a nice size. Everything looks good from “looks” alone. After getting our bags down and charging our phones I decided I wanted to make a cup of coffee. I open the coffee maker to add water and see it’s already filled BUT has a moth or a fly dead floating in it. I dump the water and look inside and it’s slimy and looks like mold sludge. I decide to skip the coffee and one the way out to the concert inform the front desk staff. The girl phoned maintenance as we were leaving and stated it would be changed. We arrived back just before midnight after the show and there’s no parking anywhere. Min
