I Was Stabbed by a Needle in My Hotel Bed — Marriott’s Response Was Worse Than the Incident While staying at Aloft Miami Brickell, a Marriott-branded property, I was physically stabbed by a needle embedded inside the bedding. This was not debris. Not a loose object on the floor. Not a minor inconvenience. It was a needle concealed within the blankets that penetrated my skin in my glute area when I laid down in bed. This presents a serious biohazard and bloodborne pathogen risk. I immediately reported the incident to hotel management. The response was dismissive and procedural. There was no urgency, no meaningful concern for medical risk, and no serious effort to address the gravity of what occurred. From the bored front staff to the worn halls and rooms, this place is pretty close to a real dump. Housekeeping came after 3:30 pm each day, halls are very dark, only one elevator works. No closets, just a dorm room cubby. Windows do not seal so very noisy!

The best thing about this hotel is the location. It’s in walking distance of Brickell City Centre, which has plenty of places to shop and plenty of restaurants and right across the street from a liquor store. It’s also about a 15 minute drive from South Beach. The hotel itself is actually very nice. I loved how the lobby was decorated. I loved the pool area and how it leads into that really nice restaurant. Also, the front desk staff was very pleasant as well as the valet staff. My room, however, could’ve used a little more decoration. It was nothing but black walls with chipped paint and a tv. No pictures…not even in a clock. I felt like I was staying at a motel 6. We enjoyed our stay here! it’s about 5-6mins walk to brickell MM/rail, so it’s quite convenient when traveling! Love how there’s a bar situated right at the lobby and board games / pool table for you to kill time with as well!

Stayed for a night before my cruise. Absolutely loved the place. Clean and they understood I needed a certain shower for my health reasons. Scheduling my shuttle to the port was also easy and super convenient. It’s also near so many stores and food so that was great as well. So for the price of $150 I’m very happy. Cons: security fee of $100 should be disclosed when booking.
