Allegheny River Campground

We go there a lot. I love tubing in the river. I also go to a place near by to go ziplining. Nice sites for campers. Meant I also go to a place near by to go ziplining. We saw the northern lights on one of our trips there.

7/25-28. We had a peaceful spot on the water for our 5th wheel. A deer and her fawns walk up the river right by our site and we enjoyed birdwatching. Went one evening to nearby Cherry Springs State Park for star gazing and returned to found our campground equally clear and amazing for viewing the stars. This area is one of the darkest and best for astronomy. I would describe the water a small stream not a river, so don’t be disappointed in that. Shallow enough to walk through., but very pretty to have near. Went to the Kinzua Skywalk which was unique. It was a 45 minute drive but so enjoyable as it was scenic. Plan to return again another mid week as there were only a few other campers & worth the 4 hour drive for us! So quite and private. They offer honey wagon service for $14,

biggest complaint is nearness to us rt 6 and associated noise. nice campsite right on Allegheny river. pro: dog park - con: dog park could be bigger. last weekend of season and plenty privacy

Beautiful, medium-sized, family run campground near the head-waters of the Allegheny River. We take the family every summer. Beautiful views and one of the best star-watching sites in Pennsylvania! The amenities are nice and clean. They also offer activities for the kids. Full hookup RV sites through primitive tent camping, and everything in between.

Beautiful campground. The premium sites are gorgeous. The sights are level, comes with two chairs, table, picnic bench, Fire pit,and a concrete pad. The bathrooms are very clean and well maintained.
