We had a lovely 5 days at Alden camps. We were with longtime friends, this was their 5 th year there and they raved about it. It’s a beautiful property, so well maintained and the cabins are adorable. The saving grace is the great screened in porch on each cabin. The 3 meals per day were creative and delicious! Having bagged lunch put in your fridge was just perfect! A relaxing trip with a lovely small beach and great fishing . We will be back.
My husband and I spent 4 wonderful nights at Alden Camps and we loved every minute of it! We swam, kayaked, tubed, hiked and ran (at nearby Colby College in Waterville). But we also read, napped, watched the sunset and totally relaxed! The food is absolutely delicious and we had to hold ourselves back so we didn’t gain weight. The Lobster Bake and s’mores on Friday night were particularly memorable. And they have Gifford’s ice cream with lunch and dinner! The grounds of the camp are lovely. There were so many beautiful flowers and everything was very well maintained but still natural and rustic. The cabins are basic but comfortable and they are cleaned daily. We appreciated the refrigerator on the front porch to store our drinks and the ice delivery at 4:00ish every day was perfec
Caught large mouth bass all day 3 days straight. Cabins were clean & cozy. Food was exceptional. Great for family fun or a romantic get away.
We visited for 5 nites in July with friends that have been going for years. The cabins were just what you needed- clean with a beautiful view. We rented a boat to have for the week and also paddleboards- they were great to use when we wanted. The food was very good- breakfast and dinners in the main house. Lunch was bagged to go but we were fishing most days so we typically made other plans. There isn’t ac in the cabins but the weather was perfect- and we brought fans. Not having tv was nice- we kept busy outside with nature. My 19 year old son and his GF came with us and they enjoyed it as much as us. Fishing was great on East Pond- we had guides with us and caught lots of fish. We would definitely return. Thanks Alden Camps for a change of scenery and to a simple time.
This June will be our 27th year returning! I guess that says a lot about how we feel about Alden Camps. The fishing is very good. The food is incredible by any standards - not just by camp standards. Every night there is a chalkboard menu which is always changing, varied, and fantastic. The owners and staff always bend over backwards to make sure their guests' stays are easy and fun. This family-owned camp (for over 100 years) is simply THE BEST, and at reasonable prices! We can't wait for June to come every year!! Note* I rated the rooms as excellent because we love the rustic cabins.
