Air Force Inns

Stayed in the pet-friendly lodging and it was very nice, newly renovated and spacious for me and my 2 dogs. housekeeping was efficient and friendly, front desk ladies were an enormous help as well! the dog park was okay, no poop bags stocked but in good shape otherwise

We used JBER Air Force Lodging as our home base while traveling throughout south- central Alaska. Rooms were clean, wifi was consistent and reasonably fast, and beds were pretty comfortable. For $60 a night, we were pleased. We stayed on the Fort Richardson side and the Airmen working in customer service had no idea how these rooms were appointed. I received conflicting information about how many beds, whether or not roll-away beds are available (they are!) and what time check in was. My room reservations on email clearly say check in begins at 2 p.m. However, when we tried to check in at 3 p.m. they said our rooms weren't ready. This happened twice. Each time we had to wait until after 4 p.m. Their excuse was that check in is between 2 and 6 pm. Huh?!? It wasted our group's tim

Because of flight delays I called the front office to let them know I’d be arriving around 8pm. When I arrived (around 7:30pm), the registration office was empty and a sign (pictured) was displayed. I waited 15 minutes before calling the number on the sign. No answer after 3 calls so I left a voicemail. Two more customers show up after I did. They called with no luck. I ended up waiting over an hour to get checked in to my room by Sam. No apology for the wait, not even a hello. In what planet is it ok to have customers wait over an hour to check in to their rooms (most likely after a long day of travel) just to stay in the worst, most run down, outdated room I’ve seen? I’ve stayed in nicer rooms in Afghanistan.

Honestly that this place has so many stars on avg is shocking. Positive is the location I suppose, it’s nice to be on base. The benefits end there. The rooms are converted barracks which in itself wouldn’t be horrible if not for the dated, damaged and generally dirty looking furniture. The heating system is loud, and like everything else aged. The building challenging to navigate without directions to the lobby for check in. Parking area in the back has no clear entrance. Amenities largely absent unless you count the stale coffee. I really regret booking this hotel rather than off post. Driving 10 extra minutes would be worth the increased comfort. This is a two star hotel whose price point is far above what it deserves. Recently stayed here while visiting family who lives on base. It’s a very basic accommodation. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, including the housekeeping staff (which is completely daily). The location is on base and close to a gas station, coffee cart, and convenience store. The best part is it’s across the street from the bowling alley which has a bar and cafe/restaurant in it! As for the building and room, it’s old and outdated as the other reviews point out. So, you need to have the proper expectations when staying here. But, I will say, even though everything is older and outdated, it’s all clean. Overall, if you need a place to stay on base for a few nights, I’d recommend the Air Force Inn, as long as you are ok with the price and outdated nature of the hotel. If you
