We were planning our trip on the drive back to Denver from a vacation in Santa Fe, when we decided to include a walking Georgia O'Keeffe studio and Ghost Ranch Tour. This had been a childhood dream of mine. A book about her and her work was one of my first art awards in grade school. Because of that, she was one of my first introductions into what became a lifelong pursuit of art. With a ticket booked, I began looking for hotel stays nearby and found this place. Honestly, it was the only place to stay that didn't involve getting up early for a drive to meet the tour group that started in the morning. The pictures looked cute. The location was next door to the welcome center, so I made our reservations without a second thought... and, I wish I'd have thought to make the stay longer! This

We made a reservation at the Abiquiu Inn with some trepidation. The online reviews seemed to be all over the map -- "not as good as it used to be" seemed to be one of the kinder ones. Others were more negative. But we had to be at the adjacent Georgia O'Keefe Welcome Center early the next morning for a tour of the famed artist's home & studio so no other lodging option seemed to make much sense for us.|Imagine our surprise, then, when we opened the door and found that our Superior Room fulfilled that billing. It was, in fact, superior -- a well-decorated suite with a living room that featured a big couch, a small desk & chair and nice New Mexico appointments; a bedroom with the tallest king bed we'd ever encountered; a well-appointed bathroom; plus a small patio on an inner courtyard. Dining at the Abiquiu Inn Restaurant is a delightful experience that perfectly complements the charm and beauty of the surrounding landscape. From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed with a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels both refined and comfortably relaxed. The staff is attentive and friendly, creating a sense of ease that sets the tone for a memorable meal. One standout element of the experience is their exceptional Old Fashioned. Crafted with care and precision, it’s the kind of cocktail that reminds you why classics endure. Smooth, perfectly balanced, and served with just the right touch of citrus and sweetness, it’s a drink that enhances the entire dining experience. Whether sipped before dinner on the patio or enjoyed alongside your meal, it’s easily one of the best Ol

From the moment I drove up, the Abiquiú Inn felt magical. Arriving on a winter night, the adobe-style inn was glowing softly, with white lights strung through the trees in the courtyard. It was beautifully quaint, peaceful, and instantly welcoming. The service was exceptional from the very first minute. As I pulled up to check in, a gentleman came out before I even had the chance to haul my suitcase inside. He explained that I’d be driving directly to my casita and wanted to save me the trouble of unloading twice. He then walked me back to my car and loaded my suitcase for me. That level of thoughtfulness set the tone for the entire stay. My son, daughter-in-law, and I had dinner at the inn’s café our first night, and it was outstanding. Everything is farm-to-table and absolutely delicio
