Customer Reviews
1855 campground is situated in the Mark Twain National Forest and is some of the most serene nature i’ve ever experienced. Bill (and his dog Missy) is an excellent steward of the land and he will do everything in his power to make your experience full of awe and nature, and will go so far as to extend his own help when the elements intervene. If you want to experience true nature, you need to get to 1855 Campground. And if you’re like me, you may find a new friend in the process.
I've stayed in this amazing campsite with a couple of friends in a warm October 2024, and we had a blast! The property even has a small lake where you can swim and chill. Creeks run through and around the property. There are several nice pitches to choose from all with available shade for morning sleep-in. The grass was mown at the pitches. The owner was helpful and very interesting to talk to! Hiking paths are available, and several national parks are close-by - we enjoyed our longer stay at 1855 Campground a lot! We'll come back again in the summer, when the water is warmer so we can swim!
Absolutely adorable and generous camp! Nature is bright and loud, so many birds and flowers, very peaceful! We spent there just a couple nights, but I would love to get there again!
Had a great time at this campground. It's spacious and secluded, we stayed at site 6. You are provided plenty of firewood and Bill was a great host. He brought our stuff to and from the campsite with his tractor. It's conveniently near the state parks like Johnson's Shut-Ins and Elefant Rock. Would def come back.
I LOVE BILL! This campground is so off the grid and so so fun! Bill, the host, is such a treat and my friend and I have made our visit an annual tradition! You will not regret your visit! Just spent year 3 at 1855 Campground and as expected, it did not disappoint!
